The First Step Towards a New You in 2007 (Most People Forget this Step!)

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

By Mark Bojovic If youve made it to January, congratulations. Its now the season of new beginnings. Dont think of resolutions, because that means change, and people dont like change. Think of the new year as a time for new things. People love new things! New cars, new clothes, new everything. It would not be fair of me to say that you want a new body. Lets be realistic, the stuff you ate and drank between Thanksgiving and new years has been taking its toll on your body, and you will continue to see its effects well into January. Where does this leave you for a new beginning? Well for one, your intestines! Health lies in your intestines. When you have dead matter and over-growth just sitting there rotting, you are bound to have sickness and disease. Your intestines affect things such as sinus infections, yeast infections, and even acne! Yes, your intestines have been busy digesting and absorbing anything and everything into your body, causing you to read this very article. The reason why I focus now on the intestines is because before we do a whole body transformation, we must start with a good foundation. And no, Im not talking about getting in your X amount of hours or miles of exercise per week for a foundation. What Im talking about is a cleanse. Why do you need a cleanse? Because your body cant absorb everything it consumes. It just stays there. And if its too difficult to digest, your body would rather it just stay there and wait forever. The five weeks of the season has made some deposits inside of you that are going to be left untouched, caked onto your intestines, choking out the intestinal lining. Do you know where cancerous cells come from? They are cells that have a lack of oxygen, or are acidic (below the alkaline state it needs to be in). If your intestinal lining is being choked out of the oxygen it needs, or is suffering from a candida yeast over growth, well my friend, I would start researching either on colon cleanses or colonoscopies. There are various cleanses out there. The simplest one is to fast from all foods and liquids except for water all day long. This means you wake up one day, dont eat anything all day long, then go to bed hungry. Drinking plenty of water is a must. Another great cleanse is a three-day apple cleanse. Pretty much, this is an all-you-can-eat apple fest (fast) for three days. The pectin in apples absorb all the crud that lies in your intestines and the fructose carbohydrates keep you going. The weird thing is, you still will feel very hungry no matter how many raw apples you eat. Washington or golden apples work best. If you dont like apples, then grapes is an alternative, but I would prefer you stick to apples. One last fast to consider is a vegetable fast, nothing but vegetables for 1-3 days. This also helps clean out the insides, but you dont get the amount of pectin fiber that you would using the apple fast. Of the three fasts, I would pick the apple fast any day! One final thought: many times the pectin does a great job of absorbing the crud in our intestines, but are still caked into the intestinal lining. The best way to fix this problem (and is highly recommended) is doing a self-administered water enema. Two years ago I had no idea what this meant, but once I built up the courage to try it, I was surprised at what came out of my intestines! Dark chunks of unknown matter came out, probably caked into my intestinal lining for who knows how long. The only thing I know is that now my intestines are in a better thriving environment. If you dont know what an enema is, its a way to get water into your colon through your anus, flushing out the colon, and then expelling everything in the toilet. It sounds disgusting, but if you look at it with a set of physiological and medical eyes, then it makes so much sense. I would typically buy the disposable enemas you can find at any pharmacy and do one each night of my apple fast. Its amazing what you find the first time you ever do it! Cleaning your system will help your overall health. It will clear up the diseases and over-growths you have been experiencing, cleaning you from the inside. Now with a cleansed system, you are free to continue your health kick and get some physical activity into your lifestyle. Weigh Yourself Daily in December

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Janice Elizabeth Small Nearly every diet advises you not to weigh yourself too often and there’s a good reason behind that. Weight fluctuates (sometimes by as much as a pound or two) during the course of a day or from one day to the next and this often has nothing to do with how much fat you’ve gained or lost. You may find you weigh less in the morning than you do at night - this doesn’t usually mean that your body has been releasing pounds of fat while you slept but that you have lost a fair amount of water! Weight gained or lost from one day to the next is generally due to retaining or releasing water too - either due to monthly hormone fluctuations or because you’ve been eating (or not eating) foods which are high in sodium. If you take too much notice of the figure on the scales you can get unduly depressed by a high reading or overly confident by a low one. But you’re just registering the differences caused by the amount of water in your body and not fat. Yet I like to weigh myself daily and here’s why. I know that my weight will fluctuate by a pound or two so I don’t let small amounts of weight gain or loss bother me. I just carry on weighing myself every morning before I have my shower. I have a magic figure in my head over which I will not let myself get without doing something about it. This is fixed at 2lbs over my ideal weight (2lbs gives those minor fluctuations a chance to balance themselves out). I never have to do much to get back to my ideal weight. I just become a little more selective in my food choices, move a bit more for a week or two and that’s it. Losing a pound or two is never as much effort as losing twenty! It has worked for me for the last seven years….. But what if you have a long way to go to your ideal weight. How can daily weighing help you then? Well, it’s a great strategy whatever your weight to avoid a backslide. And given that the Christmas season is coming up it’s ideal to avoid piling on the pounds in December. Typically people put on between 5 and 10lbs during the party season. You don’t have to be one of them! Just note your weight at the start of the month and don’t let yourself get more than 2lbs over it! If your weight slips over the 2lb mark, cut back on treats and drinks and make a determined effort to eat healthily and keep up your exercise every day until you’re back to where you were. Daily weighing not only gives you a reality check when you’ve started to indulge a bit too much, it also reminds you every day of your weight loss goals and gives you a reason to stay sensible during the season of festive feasting. And how lovely to wake up in January ready to go forward rather than bitterly regretting how much you let yourself go. Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Svetlana Polyakova Your time has come! You have been dreaming for this. Finally, you will be meeting your first date tonight. Now, the question is: what should you do on your first date? Below are some tips you should do on your first date: Have a nice conversation. Remember, to have a first date means knowing your date better. Therefore, it is very important to have a nice conversation with your date. Ice cream is perfect for sunny weather. You can buy your date an ice cream while walking in a part then have a romantic conversation at the beach. Never date in your apartment. For a first date, it is a very big turn off especially for a girl if you invite to go to your apartment. This can be very intimidating for both of you because you are still in the process of knowing each other. So as much as possible do something that is in public. Look for silent place. Again, to have a first date means know your date better. The best way to achieve this is through talking. Find a silent place so that both of you would understand each other. Never look for a dark place. It is very important that on your first date, you have to see each other while talking. Look for place that has lights so both of you would able to see your gestures and expressions. Cafes are the best location for a date. Cafes will not only obliged you to pay a lot of many but it is also a cozy and quiet place that is very perfect for both of you. Talk about interesting topics. Never talk about topics that would make both of you boring. Never talk about your job because it would definitely bore your date. Interesting topic such as past experiences, family and friends would help your conversation fruitful. You can also talk about your funny experiences or your most embarrassing moments. That would definitely laugh your date. Ask a lot of questions. The more questions you would be asking the easier to hold conversations of any topic. Listening makes others feel very important. Generally, girls love to talk. So have your full ears in listening because she will feel how important she is. Also, never interrupt when she is talking. Never impress your date. The worst thing you can do when talking with a girl is to let her know how rich you are, that you have to Mercedes Benz at home or any topic that would allows you to impress her. Plan your date. It is very important to have a plan to have an organize date. Set a date and time as to when you will meet, set a place where would you eat, etc. Other places to have a perfect date would be, watching ball games, such NBA, major league baseball, football. Watching concerts and movies would also be good options. Lastly, enjoy life and have fun. Weight Control - It’s All In Your Mind Not Your Mouth

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Malcolm Evans No area of human addictions is so badly served or exploited as that relating to food, eating and dieting. The very same substances that form the food and eating addictions are being repackaged and represented as the possible cure a proposition utterly ridiculous as soon as one steps back and sees the context. It would be like producing a range of slightly blunter blades for the self-harming, or slightly reduced moonshine for alcoholics, or boxing gloves for the domestically violent. Yet a similar kind of lunacy continues within the food arena, with every conceivable variety of lo-calorie, lo-fat, lo-carbohydrate or lo-sugar being promoted as the cure to all one’s underlying eating, weight and self-image issues. - Is food your problem? Then, hey, come right over here because we have more food that just happens to be your personal solution! But legislation is rarely the right answer to these things. Calls for tightening regulations governing what the Food Industry can produce and what it can promote are little better than dead end by-ways on the road forwards to lasting solutions. Education is what is needed. However, this so often ends up in the backwater of nutrition, not the mainstream requirement for a better mass understanding of the psychology of eating. It starts at the highest levels, not just with business, which will naturally and not improperly seek advantage wherever it can be obtained. The Government of both the US and the UK are currently in the process of releasing new eating guidelines. They have been putting out similar advice at regular intervals for over 100 years now. No-one pays a blind bit of notice. People by and large understand the fundamentals of adequate eating. The deficit is in workable strategies for individuals to be able to adopt these fundamentals permanently and painlessly into their everyday routines. Instead we end up with a ceaseless tide of next to useless diet and nutrition advice. A lot of it revolves around scientific studies into the possible effects or non-effects of various micro-nutrients, often presented in a context utterly removed from the daily reality of eating. There is a growing Academic Industry which needs to fuel itself with research and that often becomes research for research’s sake. In relation to all things food and eating, the sector needs to look closely into itself and to assess whether it is acting in the interests of solutions, or risking an increase in food obsession through its often self-serving output of irrelevant nutritional verbiage. It is even easier to take pot shots at the Dieting Industry but as it is still standing and, indeed, thriving, there is no harm at all in taking a fresh swipe! Everything about it is simply wrong. There have been experiments where kids have been left to select their own intake from a range of offered foods everything from trash candy to fresh fruit, with all other major foods and dishes in- between being represented. And you know what? Within a couple of days the kids stop binging on rubbish and self-select a balanced diet. But perhaps that isn’t that surprising really after all. The problem is that we are in danger of losing sight that food and eating is actually quite easy and instinctive. Can you imagine if there was a rising international epidemic of dysfunctional breathing? There would be fears that humankind was collectively taking leave of its senses. Well, without entering the realms of science fiction, this is the self-induced and self-perpetuated variety of madness with which we flirt through our food obsessions. There is a growing movement called Intuitive Eating which is attempting to recapture the innocence and simplicity of eating. Of itself this is a very good thing but it is does not go far enough. Hand-in-hand with an anti-dieting message needs to be a proactive and personal sense of awareness about the social structures which support the Dieting Madness. Once you understand your own personal combination of emotional, cultural and commercial pressure points, it becomes very easy to grasp that food is nothing more than fuel with a little sociability and celebration thrown in for good measure once in a while. Next time you are tempted by any diet product (which can be as superficially OK as a lowered calorie something or other), forcibly remind yourself that it is all nonsense. It is the total consumed which matters, not the sum of the parts. And, much more importantly, beyond this initial breakthrough acknowledgment, learn to accept that nothing we put in our mouths (certainly nothing that emanates in any shape or form from the Dieting Industry) actually has much to do with it at all. The gainful alternative is to learn to put good things into our minds instead and when we do this we are talking a whole new ballgame and it is one we can win on our own terms time after time. Bridal Registry

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Max Bellamy Bridal registries are services offered by department stores to allow engaged couples to choose the gifts they will receive at their wedding. Couples can draft a list of items that they would like to receive from what is offered at the store. This list is provided to wedding guests so that the desired number of each gift is ordered or purchased and the guests can avoid duplication. Some methods allow several participating stores to provide the list to guests. When a guest purchases a gift, the department store’s list is restructured and the article is removed from the list of preferred items. This prevents a single gift from being unintentionally bought by several people. A bridal registry is effective both for the couple to be married and for guests who no longer need to be apprehensive over what to buy. Department stores can be very efficient and offer an exceedingly individual experience for the bride, groom and registry buyers. Bridal registries give free of charge consultations in person, over the phone or via Internet to brides and grooms. This helps them decide on the items they want and select items according to taste and home decor planning needs. Services may include importing items directly from the manufacturer, offering considerable cost savings for couples and visitors. If another guest has previously purchased an item, stores provide options of issuing a gift certificate or the ability to notify the guest and offer counseling in selecting a new item. The concept of a bridal registry is at times, looked upon as offensive, predominantly by guests of older generations. It is looked upon as asking for gifts and is seen as walking all over traditional gift buying habits. Detractors also say that the element of surprise is lost and it turns gift buying into a competition, as the couple knows prices of the presents received. The use of bridal registries has increased, nonetheless, as has the controversial practice of couples asking guests to give them money instead of gifts. In spite of these issues, bridal registries have become popular amongst modern couples, as they are practical in nature and save time spent returning unwanted gifts. Date Talk

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Lexi Jewlgia The dating scene can be a challenge, especially when you’re about to embark on the unknown with someone new. It’s not always easy to communicate with someone in situations that build pressure, and first dates do just that. The things said, and the responses given in conversations can determine whether or not there will be dates to follow. Below, I have addressed a few ways to possibly help ease the stress and tension when it comes to conversation starters. First dates make people anxious and nervous, so it’s not unlikely that the conversation on a first date will be awkward. In the beginning of the date ask simple questions, just to get things rolling. Inquire about your date’s hobbies, occupation, likes and dislike. Remember, the both of you are still in the “getting to know you stage.” It’s perfectly fine to keep it simple. Often, one topic can lead to the next topic, and that can solve any problems of silence. Once you’ve covered the basics, it’s not always obvious where to take the conversation next. One thing you want to try and avoid is questions that only have one worded answers. You both want to feel comfortable on the date. If the answers to the questions are minimal, then neither person is going to feel relaxed. Also, one worded answers can give the impression that you’re just not interested. The case may be that it’s only your nervousness working against you, but it could appear otherwise to your date. One thing to remember is that while people love to talk about themselves, it’s also important to listen. It’s very attractive to have a date that makes direct eye contact with you. It’s a sign that he or she is attentively paying attention to what you’re saying. Keep the topics to your conversations light. You don’t want your discussions to get too controversial on the first date. While politics and religion can make for a good debate it can also cause the situation to get heated. You may want to save that for another time. Another good thing to avoid is talking about past relationships. You’re on a date to talk about yourself and find out if you both have similar interests. It’s a huge turn-off sitting there having to listen to stories about someone’s ex. Conversing about past relationships can make it seem like you’re comparing your date to someone else, or that your feelings for your past love may still be there. In either case, that could start things off on the wrong foot. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to fret over first date table talk. If you’re able to relax, then things will run smoother for both of you. Dating should be fun and entertaining; it shouldn’t be something that scares you. Understanding Equity Loans

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Daniel_Roshard]Daniel Roshard It is truly not easy to generate money nowadays. The hard part of it is that cash is almost always needed for all daily transactions, from the most necessary, down to the luxurious ones. Modern jobs are usually not enough to give individuals the needed cash to spend on necessities and investments. This is especially true if you are investing in stocks or businesses, or is just plainly planning to startup a simple enterprise. Since your parents, families and friends would not surely be able to lend you money for whatever need you may have, there are various financial products in the market today to keep you covered. Thus, there are various equity loans products offered not just by banks, but also by other financial institutions. Take note that these equity loans lenders are striving to get to customers. For a start, equity loans are transactions wherein people can borrow money from a lender or institution using collateral that serve as guarantees for the intention to repay the amount with interests. In equity loans, mortgages are usually in the form of real estate or other valuable properties. The amount of loan would certainly depend on the value of the mortgage-collateral. For example, a borrower uses his house as the collateral. The lender would appraise the value of the home and peg it against the amount being borrowed, with accumulated interest rates. The move ensures that the lender could take the collateral as payment in case the borrower fails to repay the amount. If that happens, usually the property serves as the lender’s investment and would be divested at prices significantly higher than the price the company provided the original owner. Equity loans providers are definitely businesses that normally aim to maximize investments and profits so do not expect them to have sufficient compassion for you, the borrower. This is how the computation of the equity loans usually works, equity loans are intended to only last for a limited time, like for example, a few years. Monthly interest payments are also required, along with installment payments for the capital repayment. Interest rates of equity loans are now based on the prevailing national interest rates. So, if the economy is good, interest rates fall and so do equity loans interests. Otherwise, borrowers are made to pay high interest rates. The computation of the equity loans and repayments are very structured and well-designed. The amount of the money to be provided to the borrower is some percent equivalent to the overall valuation of the mortgage. The installment payments are properly computed and both parties agree to standard payment procedures and timing. Home Equity Loan is a one way of getting a considerable sum of money to improve your property or to pursuit investments or business opportunities.
