The Gift of Time

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

By Bonnie Moss Time is eternal. It is in abundant supply, yet, there never seem to beenough of it. Time is precious, but oh, how we squandertime on our hands. Time flies, we ask ourselves, where does time go? The clock ticks away and so does ourheartbeats as we forge ahead to beat the clock. For some, the 24 hours of a day are not enough toallow them to meet all those commitments that demand time, precious time. People to meet, placesto go, things to do and not enough time to do it all! Thus the word quality time has evolved. Do wereally understand what it means? We share a few minutes or hours with those we love, we call it quality time. Is this supposed to fill in the broad gaps of time away from them? Does this ensure freedom from guilt as we merrily or hurriedlygo on from project to project? Short and sweet takes on a new meaning- at timesthis is all there is to share. Distance is great impediment to keep families in close touch. Celebrations come andgo, some family members or close friends will always be absent. They dont have the time to come and share in a celebration. But, technology offers a variety of options to keep in touch with anyone, especially those we profess to love. Many of us have forgotten the wonder of the written word- a letter or a card in the mail can bring a smile, tender memories or feelings of joy for the recipient. But who writes letters these days? How much timedoes it take to call someone just to keep in touch? Time is a gift many of us forget its value. In themidst of a busy life, it is difficult to find the timeto give to anyone but the very immediatefamily. Even with this limited circle, time can bein very short supply. Stop a moment and reflect on this. Where and how dowe spend our time that justifies the lack of it toshare with those we love or care for? The world willnot fall apart if you take some time to be withthose you love. Your business, your careeryour hobby, your social life and other commitmentsthat demand part of your time certainly canttake priority over your loved ones. Not all the time. Time can be budgeted- for those who are too busy to stop and think of where their day goes. How one spends time can be analyzed in orderto make more time for the important issues in life.Remember, years will pass by, lifestyles can change and health becomes a concern at one point. It can happen to us! At a certain stages in life, material gifts do not matter. A child would rather have the presence ofMom and Dad at school functions or other activities. It gives that re-assurance that they really care. These memories will be cherished for a long time.An expensive gift clearly. spells guilt and can not fill in a void nor smooth out feelings ofresentment and disappointment. As we get older, presents do not have the lusterthese once had. Tastes and circumstances change.Time becomes a very dominant part of life atthis stage. Precious time shared leaves a feeling of being loved, a thoughtful gesture that warms a lonely heart. A gift of time can be one of the most preciousgifts anyone can share; time that can brightenup ones life even just for a brief moment. Itleaves memories that will last till the next time. A gift of precious time can mean a lot. Bonnie Moss writes to inspire and to motivateher readers to explore the depths of their heart andsoul and make a difference in this world. Beauty And The Beast - The Answer To Being Beautiful

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Kacy Carr It is said that absence makes the heart grow fonder - well so does Beauty - the more you peer at something beautiful the more you yearn for it. Beauty injects an essence of elegance - an emotion felt within which comes with feeling good about your self. But leading a healthy lifestyle has to be the most important of all. Health plays a major role in contributing to the beautiful feeling experienced when looking good. Many women tend to suffer from Beauty and the Beast syndrome - where one day an effort is made to look good and then the next - no matter what you do - it just is not happening. Why? Well it is no secret; there are two main key issues to take claim of being beautiful. and that is the (take 2 factor) number 1 look good and 2 is feel good - if you don`t feel good about yourself then don`t expect to look good. Transformation can take place in the beauty department if you make a stand and sort yourself out. Your health dominates how you feel - how you look and how you think so any concerns that are causing you sorrow whether it be a health or beauty matter then remember a problem shared is a problem halved. Speak with your local GP and once you are given the all clear - take note of the change in your whole entity, a personality change comes with looking beautiful. A fabulous way to find the beauty within - is to let it out. Inner beauty can be released by practising yoga. Yoga is an amazing exercise that understands what the body`s wants and needs are. Anxiety and tension bring on frowns - meaning more wrinkles, this is not part of any known beauty package. A beautiful person injects happiness and smiles that come from the heart (a healthy one) Feeling good about your self is the first step in the right direction to making your beauty regime a more pleasurable one - guaranteed. Once you have claimed a content mind minus any matters of concern - it is then after you apply your beauty cosmetics you will notice the mirror image of yourself will be that of a changed person. Confront the reflection of the beast in the mirror and watch the beauty transformation take place. Notice how the facial skin turns to that of a fresh complexion - see how the lip gloss is now a glow. All because you feel good. Beauty /Health magazines have wonderful ideas and tips on being beautiful and you will find many online support centres on beauty very fulfilling but what you have to bear in mind is, these beauty support groups on health and fashion do just that - give advice. This is about you and being beautiful so regardless of whether the advice given, is by Sharon Stone, you are never going to experience that feeling of walking along the red carpet unless you feel good. Simple Ways to Share Christ With Children

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Chanda Stegall As Christian parents, one of the most important duties that we have is to teach our children about the Lord. This is an awesome responsibility. It can also seem like an overwhelming responsibility. But Praise God - our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom has built four teachable moments into our day that can help us to share His word with our children in bite-sized, manageable chunks. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says: These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Here are some ideas of ways to teach your children about the Lord during these teachable moments: When you sit at home: This refers to meal time. Meal time is an excellent opportunity to connect with your children. During mealtime, you may discover your child is dealing with a playground bully. Or maybe you want to readdress a toy sharing incident from earlier in the day. You can use meal time to relay how God would have us respond in these situations. Oh - and dont forget to give thanks for the food the Lord has provided! When you walk along the road: Well, we seldom walk along the road anymore so a modern day example would be when we ride in our cars. You can listen to Christian music and encourage your children to sing along. Make sure you explain the meaning of the songs to your children so that the songs can become eternal treasures for them. And, how about taking an “ole fashion” walk - you can point out God’s wonderful creations all around us. When you lie down: As your children unwind at the end of the day, you can read them passages from a Childrens Bible and discuss the meaning and moral of the story. This doesnt necessarily have to be a lesson but just a consistent story time. End the evening in prayer. Pray aloud with and for your children and allow them to pray as well. When you get up: Before rushing into the chaotic morning routine - take a few moments to pray together as a family and ask God to lead, guide and direct everyone throughout the day. You may find that spending this early morning time with the Lord will make the morning routine a little less hectic! Prayerfully, with these tips, you will find it easier to fulfill the commandment of Deuteronomy 6:6-7. God provided these teachable moments for a reason - use them wisely. How to Make 3 Wonderfully Easy Winter Skin Toners

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Danielle Sims Cold weather is on its way and the winter season is just aroundthe corner. What does this mean to your skin? Cold weather canbe damaging to your skin. If your face is not properlyprotected, it can dry out, crack, and wrinkle! It is imperativeto have a good moisturizer. But do we need a toner too? For years I concentrated on cleansers and moisturizers, neglecting toners. The only time a toner was used was when Ipurchased a complete skin care regimen set that contained atoner at the department store. When I began to make my own skincare products, I was concerned mainly with lotions andmoisturizers. I finally began to realize that a toner has manybenefits that I was missing out on by not including it in mydaily skincare program: Removes traces of cleanser that was left behind after cleansing Help restore your skin to its nature acid PH Refresh your skin throughout the day Set make up Adds additional moisture Conditions the skin One thing to remember is to keep it simple. Prepare a tonerthat can be used for both a toner and a refresher. Before youmake your toner, be sure to have the bottle available forstorage. A good choice is a spray bottle, so you can use yourtoner as a refresher throughout the day. Be sure to store yourtoner in a cool place, the refrigerator is ideal. You may use acotton ball to apply your toner after cleansing and also spritzthroughout the day. A couple of easy toners you can make to help nourish, protect, and moisturize your skin during the winter are the PH Toner,Herbal Refresher, and the Aloe Soother. PH Toner1Cups distilled water 4 TBS Bragg’s Apple Cider vinegar(or any other nature non-distilled apple vinegar) 10 drops of rose oil 8 drops of chamomile oil Mix all ingredients in your bottle of choice and shakevigorously before each use. You may use a cotton ball to applyyour toner after cleansing and spritz throughout the day. Herbal Refresher1 cup witch hazel 1/2 cup distilled water 1 chamomile tea bag 10 drops of Lavender Oil 6 drops Sandlewood Oil Heat water to boil and steep the tea bag in the water for 15minutes. Add the chamomile water to the witch hazel and addessential oil. Shake before each use. Aloe Soother1/2 cup aloe vera gel 1 cup distilled water 10 drops chamomile oil Mix all ingredients and shake well before each use. All three toner recipes are great to help you get through thecold and wintery harsh months that follow. Your skin will thankyou by remaining soft, refreshed and healthy. Car Loans

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Eddie_Tobey]Eddie Tobey It is not often that a person buys a car without taking a car loan. Most car sales are completed with a car loan. When applying for a car loan, you have to decide on the car you intend to buy, keeping in mind your budget, the price, the type of car and unexpected maintenance costs. Then, find a loan you can afford. To do this, get quotes from all finance companies, and match them to your requirements. The best means of obtaining car loan quotes is by comparing the rates of used car loans, new car loans and car title loans offered by the different car loan companies. Compare the interest rates, upfront margin to be paid, and the pre-payment clause of the different loans from different companies. Also find out what the monthly payment is, the duration of the loan repayment, the percentage of the car price that is being taken as a loan, and any other incentives or discounts that the finance companies offer. You could use online car loan calculators to do this. Once you find the car loan that fits your budget and expectations, you can apply for it. Those with bad credit need not fret, as there are bad credit loans available. Whatever car loans you apply for you require certain documents, like your proof of income and residence, banking history, proof of identity, photographs and signature verification from the bank. When signing documents, make sure to clarify points that are not understood by you, to avoid future complications. Read the fine print carefully. Then you have to pay your down payment, and collect the car from the car dealer. Scratch and Win, How Both The Contestant and Retailer Win Big!

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By Steven Schneidman Ever wonder why there are a million scratch and win game cards at your local convenience store or gas station? They are there because governments take in millions of dollars from these lotteries. It’s time you got into the action. People today are all looking to get rich quick. With high rates of borrowing and ever increasing bills, people are lining up to get rich quick. Put down a dollar or two to win tens of thousands, seems easy enough. It really is easy enough for both the lottery player and the government. Smart marketers are now capitalizing on this success. What if I could raise your sales by 25 to 40%, or increase your customer base by the same amount, would you be interested? Of course you would. Traditional flyers advertising specials are becoming ineffective. When a pile of sale flyers arrive with the newspaper, chances are you are like me, and they go right into the trash. Now if you used those marketing dollars more wisely you could really end up with a great return on your investment. It takes money to make money, but the trick is to make lots of money. Traditionally scratch off game cards needed to be run in the tens of thousand or millions to be cost effective. Today with new printing technologies, we can reduce this number to hundred or a couple of thousands. You can run specific promotions for limited times to get and ever increasing return. Scratch cards can have both an instant win prize as well as a collecting long lasting purpose. You can decide if everyone will be some sort of winner as well you can control the odds of winning larger prizes. Today scratch off cards can offer both monetary savings (5%,25% or more off), or product prizes. Both drive traffic to your store, product or web site. The key is to entice your customer enough that he will investigate your product or service further. Today with variable data printing you can run fun games like poker or “Deal or no Deal” cards to increase a customers participation rate. All of these capitalize on the consumers desire to win something, have fun and need for ease of use. If you need help with your new promotion investigate on the net or take a look at some samples at http://www.solutionsink4u.com or give me a call. I’d gladly give you some pointers or help to make your next campaign a great success. Weight Loss by Walking

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Alex Fir Exercises are great for your workout program for the reason that they help tone sagging muscles while burning calories at the same time. However, aerobic exercise is one of the best ways to burn fat. A fantastic way to get an aerobic workout is walking. Walking is the most successful and easiest workout we can use in our exercise routine. But you need to know how to do it properly in order to get the most from walking. Here is how weight loss by walking works. The first thing you should do is spend more time walking. While 30 minutes of exercise is great for fat burning, when you walk, you really need to increase this up to 45 minutes, but preferably 60 minutes. However, it might not be achievable for you to fit 60 minutes of walking into your busy schedule, but try walking every day walk a few days for an hour and a few days at half an hour. Rotate them, however. If you walk an hour on Monday, walk 30 minutes on Tuesday, etc. If you can only spend 30 minutes on walking, you need to increase your speed. A leisurely walk is not going to provide you that aerobic workout that your body needs, so step it up a little. But do not go too far. If you cant talk and walk, you are over-exerting yourself and you need to back off a bit. You can also carry some type of weight when you walk. This could be something simple like a small weight, or you can use a couple of cans of corn! Carry them in your hands as you walk and move your arms back and forth in your strides. If you add weight you will also help tone your arms. If you are walking outdoors, take along a walkman and play some upbeat music to keep you walking. It is entertaining and it keeps you going as well. Did you find those tips on weight loss by walking useful? Visit Online Diet Center to read more than 150 free diet tips. Ethics and Morality - Right and Wrong

Monday, November 19th, 2007

By David Hulme According to one author, we’ve seriously lost our way. He says we are like men adrift at sea without a compass. Many of us know this, and realize something has gone terribly wrong, but what to do about it evades us. As a result, ethical and moral dilemmas plague us as we look ahead to the 21st century. Is there any way to know the difference between right and wrong? Does religion have anything left to offer? From time to time we hear that the established churches are in confusionthat too often their leaders have nothing to say that’s practical and helpful. Where does the truth on these matters lie? Back in the days just before the Second World War, things were different. The Western world was dominated by a particular value system. In a book titled 1938: A World Vanishing, Brian Cleeve wrote about the difference between Britain as it was entering the war and the way it had become about 50 years later. He said: There really was, as nostalgia remembers, an air of greater contentment of a sturdier confidence in the future. [People] had a greater stock of moral certainties. Right and wrong were not matters for debate. Since then much has changed, of course. Now right and wrong are matters for debate. The end of the Second World War was a turning point. And while the morality of the ’30s was not perfect, Cleeve noted that to exchange a false morality for no morality at all is not necessarily an exchange for the better. And if, as a survivor of pre-war years, I were to offer an opinion as to one difference between then and now that is for the worse, I would have to choose morality…. the morality of believing that there are real and objective standards of behavior, that there are such things as virtues, and such things as vices; that certain things are unarguably good, and others unarguably bad. What has happened in contemporary Western society is the promotion of democratic ideas beyond reason. It’s often been noted that democracy carries within itself the seeds of its own destruction. In our modern eagerness to be tolerant, Cleeve stated, we have come to tolerate things which no society can tolerate and remain healthy. In our understandable anxiety not to set ourselves up as judges, we have come to believe that all judgments are wrong. In our revulsion against hypocrisy and false morality we have abandoned morality itself. And with modest hesitations but firm convictions I submit that this has not made us happier, but much unhappier. We are like men at sea without a compass. He continued: In 1938 in Britain the average man and woman still possessed a keen notion of what was right and what was wrong, in his and her own personal life, in the community, and in the world at large. When the war was finally begun it was clearlyand rightlyseen as a moral war by the ordinary people who were being called on to risk their lives in it. Has the time arrived again when ordinary people must make moral standards a personal crusade? Has the time come to stand up and be counted for the difference between right and wrong? We all know what’s been going on around the world. Our leaders have been unable to stem the flow of violence, the corruption and the many evils of modern life. Why? Could it be that the answers do not lie with leadersthat they are found somewhere else, such as in the realm of personal responsibility? There was a time in the Western world when we could recite the Ten Commandments. They were taught in school. There was a time when our parents led the way in disciplining us for bad behavior. Much of our morality was based on the Book of books, the Bible. Sadly, today it’s thought by many to be no more than a piece of great literature. Its important to understand the Bible’s practical relevance to today’s moral dilemmas. It is believed that in its pages, God has revealed the way that leads to true success and happiness in human society.
